On January 26, 2006, mom and I received perhaps one of our greatest
honors. We were named the first runner-up in the Small Business
Category for the State of Idaho's Brightest Stars. We are humbled
that our contributions to our community were recognized in such a
manner.
Update! In January, 2007, we were named the first
runner-up in the Small Business Category again. We are so humbled
and so honored to be recognized again for such an award.
Alice
Walter & Deb Hopkins of Walter Times Two have a life-long
commitment to not only the communities in which they live, but to all
children at risk. Their passion is evident in the vast span of
their community service. From donating bookkeeping services for
20 years to a non-profit school, to donating blood or volunteering
their time in hospitals and long term care facilities in the form of
Pet Therapy, these two women give of themselves straight from the
heart. Between the two of them, they have been providing
approximately 50 years of service.
Alice and Deb donate quilts to foster
children, the Women and Children's Domestic Violence Shelter, Project
Linus, the Shriners Hospital for Children and others.
In order to help others trace their
ancestry, Deb collects data, photographs headstones and transcribes
them at both the Heyburn and Rupert Cemeteries.
The contributions of these two women
impact over 100 youth and families per year.
We would like to take this
opportunity to encourage each of you
to take time to share of your talent with others. It is only by
the
sharing of our talent that quilting continues to grow and expand.
The quilting industry is one of the most sharing and caring groups of
people
we know and we are so very proud to be a part of it. Take time to
make
a quilt for charity or for a child in need.
We urge you to join
us
as we make the world a better place,
one quilt at a time.
