Wonder Cut Ruler Spring 2005 Retreat
(not your average quilting retreat!) May
6-8, 2005
Our Spring 2005 Wonder Cut Ruler Retreat was held May 6-8, 2005 at the Marsh
Creek Event Centre located in the beautiful Albion Valley here in Idaho.
Albion is about 18 miles from Burley.
We started off the retreat with the traditional ringing of the school
bell. We revealed a little bit about us and some
unusual tidbits about our fellow quilt retreaters. We enjoyed a
few laughs and some "ohh's" and "aww's" as everyone brought some "Bring
'n Brag" to share. Projects for this retreat included a table
topper, two quilts, and pillowcases, all of which fit into our
theme, "Scrap Happy!"
All the bobbins are wound and the machines are
set on "zoom".
With a ring of the bell, let the quilting begin! Sue, Ann, Verna & Katie
working on their Albion Jewel
We were honored to have Teena from Australia as our special guest. Teena working on one of her
quilts. She tells me that scrap quilts are
not her favorite, but I think we changed her mind a bit.
The Three Amigos from Utah busy, busy, busy!
Nancy, Robyn, and Liza Ann (sorry Nancy, we snuck in a picture).
We started off with a table topper we called "Albion Star." Yvonne, Judy & Connie
showing off their hard work.
The next quilt we did was the "Pioneer Braid". This quilt was done
using the Wonder Cut Triangle Ruler. Helen, Annie, Ann, and Betty
(Queenie)
Here's Katie showing off the start of her quilt.
Our next project was the "Albion Jewel."
Here's Judy's - all layed out and ready to be put together.
