Wonder Cut Ruler Spring 2006 Retreat
(not your average quilting retreat!) April
28-30, 2006
We are planning another Fall retreat
October 6-8,
2006. Space is limited. Please register early.
Our Spring 2006 Wonder Cut Ruler Retreat was held April 28-30, 2006 at
the Marsh
Creek Event Centre located in the beautiful Albion Valley here in Idaho.
Albion is about 18 miles from Burley.
We started off the retreat with the traditional ringing of the school
bell. As our quilters entered the main retreat room, they were
greeted in Hawaiian style with a flower lei, which fit perfectly into
our theme - "ALOHA!" Our quilters introduced themselves as
they showed their "Bring 'n Brag". We had two gals attending that
had never made a quilt before. We had quilters from Arizona,
Canada, Oregon, Wyoming, Utah, California, and Idaho join us.
Projects for this retreat included a table
topper, two quilts, and a quilt storage bag. Tanya did an
excellent job of describing this retreat. Click here to read
what she had to say about our retreat.
With bobbins wound, let the quilting begin! Liza Anne, Annie, and Kay
There's a whole lotta quiltin'
going on!
As you can see, we have lots of room for everyone!
We have helpers at our retreats to speed along the process.
Our helpers are there to answer questions, help you press and help you
cut. Here is Tanya lending a
helping hand for Judy.
The first completed quilts come rolling off the presses!
These gals worked really hard the first day!
For a couple of these gals, this was their first quilt!
After all that hard work, you need a little break.
We brought up a special treat for our gals.
Jane worked some of her magic and made us all feel rejuvenated!
Check out this little goodie BevH brought with her. She's a seasoned retreater with
her own personal pressing station.
Albion Flying Swallows Don't ask me how Mary found time to
work in her Albion Flying Swallows
in between all that pressing,
but she sure did! I love it!!
Here's BevH's version almost
complete!
Queenie (aka Betty Boop)
working hard on her Tumbling Blocks Quilt.
Connie and Pam hard at work!
Here's BevH showing off her Tumbling
Blocks. What a striking color combination!
