Wonder Cut Ruler Spring 2008 Retreat
(not your average quilting retreat!)
May 2-4, 2008

Our Spring 2008 Wonder Cut Ruler Retreat was held May 2-4, 2008 at the Marsh Creek Event Centre located in the beautiful Albion Valley here in Idaho.  Albion is about 18 miles from Burley.

We started off the retreat with the traditional ringing of the school bell.  As our quilters entered the main retreat room, they were greeted by our theme "Ho!  Ho!  Ho!"   Christmas packages were waiting patiently on each quilter's sewing station, complete with bows, and that's no small thing for those that know mom and I are completely "bow challenged."

Our quilters introduced themselves as they showed their "Bring 'n Brag".  We had quilters from Wyoming, Utah, Oregon, and Idaho join us.  Projects for this retreat included a Christmas Angel wall hanging, Idaho Stretched Stars quilt, Christmas Tumbling Block wall hanging, and a Christmas Star table topper.

Wonder Cut Ruler Challenge Quilts

These are some of the wonderful quilts made for our challenge.
We issue a challenge at every retreat by giving 1/2 yard of fabric to those
that want to participate.  The completed quilts are judged by a "Viewer's Choice."
The winner gets 10 yards of fabric, but the real winners are the
kids in Foster Care in Minidoka and Cassia County.
The quilts are given to the kids as part of our Christmas Basket Program.

We had some great quilts.  I'm glad I didn't have to decide the winner.

This was Marsha's first retreat, but we are assured not her last.
She's one clever gal.  She told her husband this retreat was the
first in a 12-part series.   Gotta love her!!

One of the great things about the Marsh Creek Event Centre is our
